The story behind Van Son & Koot is one of HARD WORK, PERSEVERANCE AND INNOVATION. What started out as a local nursery has grown into a leading supplier of plants across the globe.

SINCE 1963
Our PASSION FOR PLANTS has been passed down from father to son and from business partner to successor, since 1963. It all began in 1963 at Jim Koot’s parents’ nursery in Boskoop. It was in Jim’s blood.
1999
In 1999, Jim Koot came to Kaatsheuvel and partnered up with Arjan van Son, and so VAN SON & KOOT AS WE KNOW IT TODAY was formed.
2009
Arjan van Son leaves the company. Together, he and Jim Koot enjoyed many SUCCESSFUL YEARS in partnership. Van Son & Koot has become one of the leading players in the market, this is in part thanks to Arjan van Son.
2015
The company grew and a new associate of Jim’s, Sebastiaan van der Heijden, joined as Commercial Director. After completing his studies, Sebastiaan’s first role was as a salesman. With his passion for BUSINESS, NATURE AND INNOVATION, he makes the difference.
2018
In 2018, Jordy Gijsbrechts joined as Operations Director. Jordy started out as a Saturday worker, so has belonged to this BOTANIC FAMILY since a young age! This appointment rounded the management team off to 3 members.
2023
Jim Koot has passed on his passion for entrepreneurship within his own FAMILY. His daughter, Shanice Koot, has been appointed Chief Financial Officer. This appointment entails an expansion at board level. This places the THIRD KOOT GENERATION at the helm.
